Hello,
When is Cressi's Michelangelo going to be supported?

If you have one of these computers, you can maybe help getting this supported by providing log and dump files. It may be trivial to add support or it may be complex but without either having one of these computers to hand or knowing of a user that has one it’s a little hard to start this work.

Correct!

There is a good chance the Michelangelo uses the same download protocol as one
of the previous Cressi models. So first try to download by selecting the
Leonardo or Goa (or Edy, but that's a much older model and least likely option).

For the leonardo, select both the "Save libdivecomputer logfile" and "Save
libdivecomputer dumpfile" checkboxes, and for the goa only the logfile. When
done, email me those files, also from failed attempts.

At the moment we don't know whether it works or not. Someone needs to
try and report back the result. But so far nobody did that. Once I have
confirmation, I can add it to the list of supported models.

If you want to give it a try, select the Cressi Leonardo as the model,
and enable both the "Save libdivecomputer logfile" and "Save
libdivecomputer dumpfile" checkboxes. If that doesn't work, try with the
Cressi Goa as the model, with only the "Save libdivecomputer dumpfile"
checkbox enabled. When done, email me those files, also from the failed
attempts.

No worries. If it's easier for you, I can also understand French (just
not write it very well). And if necessary, a tool like Google translate
can help too :-)

Hello Jef,
glad to read your answer, it's really quick :).
i saw on the cressi site there are two app for dive computers:
-1 for Newton - Drake - Leonardo - Giotto
-2 for Goa - Cartesio - Neon - Nepto - Michelangelo - Donatello - King

i think the rigth protocol is the 2.
my wife offer me the michelangelo this week, and we go diving the last week-end of the month.
if i try import with the memory empty it will generate the files you need or it's better waiting having some dives on it?
bests regards
eric

In that case, try with the goa protocol first.

You can already try without any dives, to test the basic connectivity.

Hi Jef,

Have fun on your dives.   My wife is a diver too.  In fact, she is an excellent diver.   I gave her a Scubapro dive computer for her birthday and she is delighted with it.

I tried the Cressi software and it does not recognize the Diverite USB download clip.    The software gives a message that it is waiting for a USB connection, even when the USB downloader clip is installed. It was worth a try.

So far, the Tusa software and the SubSurface software are the only two software programs that seem to recognize the USB downloader clip in USB/Serial Port 3 but it still fails to download the data from the dive computer.  It looks like it's trying to read the dive computer but the language, values, or codes seem to be wrong.  Maybe the prolific driver is not working correctly.  The USB Serial Prolific driver still is not visible on the Device Manager menu.

I'll keep trying different things to make it work.  If I stumble across the right formula, I'll pass it along to you and the Bloggers.

hello Jef,
have you got the time to to look at the log files?
i just want to say that i have my dives on subsurface (curve, time, temperatur, deth). The error i have seen is maybe by my fault, because the computer is a new one for me and i don't use and program all the parameter.
thank you for your help and your time
bests regards
eric

Yes, I was able to confirm the Michelangelo works and added it to the list of
supported devices. The bug you discovered was a real bug, and I fixed that as
well. Those changes should become available in the next subsurface version.

Thanks for your help.
