Cloud service down?

How do you check if the cloud service is down?

Today on my laptop I started getting the error message: "Cannot sync with cloud server, working with offline copy"

I checked and I have latest version installed. Subsurface on my mobile correctly shows all my dives as does the web site when I log in to https://cloud.subsurface-divelog.org. I have no "hyper-aggressive anti-malware" installed. Not sure what the problem is or how to diagnose.

Thanks,
Mike

Working for me right now, 17 hours after your post from a US connection.

I was traveling internationally the last week and a half...

You go to https://cloud.subsurface-divelog.org -- if that responds, the backend server is up :^)

That can have a number of causes - the error messages aren't the best at figuring that out. Could be a corrupted local copy, could be a routing issue, could be... hard to tell

The FAQ tells you how to collect a log file. Try to access the cloud and reproduce the error, then quit and send the log file to me.

Hello,

Yesterday I opened Subsurface desktop (Ubuntu) and tried to connect to the cloud and it is not pulling the latest data down.  I can see the dives on my phone.

When I tried the "cloud storage online" menu option it shows the error "Failure taking cloud storage online".

The problems remain today (2025-11-02).

Just after I wrote that, the connection started working and I am able to see my recent dives.

For me the login works, but then I get an error message:

---
Not Found

The requested URL was not found on this server.

Apache/2.4.52 (Ubuntu) Server at cloud.subsurface-divelog.org Port 443
---

Any ideas? I tried 2 different browsers...

Thanks.

Best,
Andreas

The cloud servers are up and running happily. So my guess is that this is specific to your user and some oddity with the HTML export. Can you send me email directly from the email address you use to log into cloud storage? Then I can take a look to see what's going on.

Thanks so much - I figured it out: Needed to activate via PIN first :-) Sorry I am new to this.

Thanks!

Best,
Andreas
