I Can't Establish a Connection

Hello everyone.

I have two dive computers. They are SUUNTO STINGER and APEKS DSX.

I installed the SUBSURFACE software on my LINUX (GNOME) based computer to use it with both computers. However, I couldn't get the program to communicate with either computer.

For the SUUNTO STINGER, I tried using a serial port cable with a USB converter.

For the APEKS DSX, even though there is no predefined DSX model in the program, I tried using other brands and models of dive computers via Bluetooth.

I would like to thank in advance anyone who can provide support on this matter.

The Bluetooth pairing mechanism for the Apeks DSX was intentionally
broken by the manufacturer of this dive computer, in an attempt to force
their customers to use their non-free logbook app.

Subsurface will not support this dive computer until this problem is
fixed by the manufacturer in a firmware update.

Hi Ahmet,

for the APEKS DSX, assuming you are on Linux or Mac, you can try this 

https://github.com/mgian/subsurface/releases/tag/v6.0.5276-patch.13.local-i330R_DSX

It is a fork I am maintaining that work with the Aqualung i330R (tested) and should also work with the DSX.

It is a little old to be honest but it should work.
