Hi there,

after playing around with the app for a while, I am seriously considering it as my main (if not unique) dive log software.
However, I am faced with a few issues when importing my Shearwater dive database.
1) when using the database backup file (.db file, a mySQL database) as the import file, I get pretty much everything I see in the Shearwater Desktop software (and more) except for the dive computer names and serial numbers (the computers are listed as "unknown computer". I couldn't figure out a way to tell subsurface: this is my Petrel, this is my Predator, etc.
2) when I try importing a list of dives exported as CSV or XML files, the user added information in Shearwater Desktop are gone (they are just not saved in the original files), which defeats the purpose of migrating from one platform to another.

In short, I may be missing some simple fact about approach 1, as the "db" file format is apparently associated with Suunto's computers in the import menu. It does seem to read most of the information from the SW database all right, except for the computer names/IDs. I am certain that this info is in the database, as I read it with my own software.

Thanks for your feedback on this.

Hey X

I'm full time on subsurface in the next three or four days, so I'll try to remove any issues that you may find.

Can't promess much. =)

Thanks. I suppose you have some sample db files exported from the Shearwater Desktop software to examine? I don't recall where the relevant data was stored, but it should be rather easy to figure out, from what I recall (I don't have my code available right now and moreover it would be in LabVIEW).

I seem to have lost my Shearwater sample database file so could you
send one for me? (According to my records, it is an SQLite DB.) I
should be able to fix this import issue quite easily, so Thomaz can
concentrate on the areas within his core competence :D
