Hi,
We would like to request some new functionality for the Eclipse plugin please.

At the moment the Eclipse plugin does not allow the user to click on a Substep line and be taken to the Java implementation or Substep definition. This would be a great help when tracking through code in both the feature and substeps files.

Many thanks,
Gary

If you put the cursor on the line you want to refer to and hit F3, this will take you to the substep definition (if it exists).

Paul

Hi Paul,
That's excellent. Many thanks for that tip. I usually use CTRL+click rather than F3, but I'll share that tip with our other developers and testers. It only seems to work for Substeps definitions, and not step implementations though. Is that a possible enhancement? Also, would it be easy to add 'CTRL+click' functionality, like Eclipse uses for Java?
Many thanks,
Gary

Hi Gary,

Yes that's right, at present, it only works for substep definitions - I have a preference for the keyboard myself and so didn't implement the Ctrl+Click - in fact I didn't know you could even do that in eclipse until someone suggested it!  Adding the Ctrl+Click to the existing functionality shouldn't be too difficult, increasing scope to include step implementations - possibly a bit harder, but certainly possible - this feature is certainly on our radar - perhaps we'll look to publishing that ( and the long awaited eclipse plugin docs!).  We'd be more than happy to accept pull requests though if you're up for a challenge! :-)

thanks for the suggestion!
cheers
Ian
