I see a lot of threads on here about freezes and issues related to AppHangB1. There are many who will tell you to check you mod list, lower your settings and try a variety of tweaks that will only put off the issue. These tweaks may all help; but the game still freezes eventually. There is nothing more infuriating on long play throughs than freezing mid-quest. Well ladies and gentlemen, I've found a fix.

This link will take you to my guide that will show you step by step how to not only optimize your computer in general, but also how to stop the freezing. This is achieved by a third party tool called "cleanmem", The files section contains a download which shows you exactly how to set it up for ideal results.

Cleanmem is a tool used to clean the RAM cache of you PC in order to free up space. It is particularly effective when dealing with memory leaks. For those who aren't technically inclined, memory leaks are basically a coding issue that causes an application to retain data longer than necessary. This would be fine in vanilla Skyrim. It could be hours or days before that presented a problem, however chances are if you are here; you are experiencing freezing and your data folder is teeming with mods.

Skyrim may not have a memory leak in the traditional sense of the word, however there is some underlying issue in the game's coding that causes it to retain useless info and once it approaches 3.2 gigs of Ram the game will freeze.

This guide will help you in a number of ways if followed in it's entirety. Cleanmem is the only necessary step to stop freezing. This guide should enable you to add some more mods, increase you graphic fidelity a little bit and never worry about freezing again.

After almost a year of dealing with the freezing issue and trying everything I could think of, I gave your guide a try a few weeks ago. While it hasn't completely eliminated the freezes, it has drastically reduced them. This is using at least a 3 week sampling. So I believe it's worth trying. Like I said, hasn't stopped freezes entirely, but they happen wayyyyy less than they used to. Just my 2 cents.

Clears unnecessary files from your computer's hard disk. You can use command-line options to specify that Cleanmgr cleans up Temp files, Internet files, downloaded files, and Recycle Bin files. You can then schedule the task to run at a specific time by using the Scheduled Tasks tool.

NOTE: The /d option isn't utilized with /sagerun:n./sageset:nDisplays the Disk Cleanup Settings dialog box and also creates a registry key to store the settings that you select. The n value, which is stored in the registry, allows you to specify tasks for Disk Cleanup to run. The n value can be any integer value from 0 to 9999. For more information, see Registry key information./sagerun:nRuns the specified tasks that are assigned to the n value if you use the /sageset option. All drives on the computer are enumerated and the selected profile runs against each drive./tuneup:nRun /sageset and /sagerun for the same n./lowdiskRun with the default settings./verylowdiskRun with the default settings, no user prompts./autocleanAutomatically deletes the files that are left behind after you upgrade Windows./?Displays help at the command prompt.OptionsThe options for the files that you can specify for Disk Cleanup by using /sageset and /sagerun include:

Downloaded Program Files - Downloaded program files are ActiveX controls and Java programs that are downloaded automatically from the Internet when you view certain pages. These files are temporarily stored in the Downloaded Program Files folder on the hard disk. This option includes a View Files button so that you can see the files before Disk Cleanup removes them. The button opens the C:\Winnt\Downloaded Program Files folder.

Temporary Internet Files - The Temporary Internet Files folder contains Web pages that are stored on your hard disk for quick viewing. Disk Cleanup removes these pages but leaves your personalized settings for Web pages intact. This option also includes a View Files button, which opens the C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5 folder.

Recycle Bin - The Recycle Bin contains files that you have deleted from the computer. These files aren't permanently removed until you empty the Recycle Bin. This option includes a View Files button that opens the Recycle Bin.Note: A Recycle Bin may appear in more than one drive, for example, not just in %SystemRoot%.

Temporary Files - Programs sometimes store temporary information in a Temp folder. Before a program quits, the program usually deletes this information. You can safely delete temporary files that haven't been modified within the last week.

Temporary Offline Files - Temporary offline files are local copies of recently used network files. These files are automatically cached so that you can use them after you disconnect from the network. A View Files button opens the Offline Files folder.

Offline Files - Offline files are local copies of network files that you specifically want to have available offline so that you can use them after you disconnect from the network. A View Files button opens the Offline Files folder.

Compress Old Files - Windows can compress files that you haven't used recently. Compressing files saves disk space, but you can still use the files. No files are deleted. Because files are compressed at different rates, the displayed amount of disk space that you'll gain is approximate. An Options button permits you to specify the number of days to wait before Disk Cleanup compresses an unused file.

Catalog Files for the Content Indexer - The Indexing service speeds up and improves file searches by maintaining an index of the files that are on the disk. These Catalog files remain from a previous indexing operation and can be deleted safely.Note: Catalog File may appear in more than one drive, for example, not just in %SystemRoot%.

If you specify cleaning up the drive that contains the Windows installation, all of these options are available on the Disk Cleanup tab. If you specify any other drive, only the Recycle Bin and the Catalog files for content index options are available on the Disk Cleanup tab.

The purpose of this application is to regulate Cyberpunk 2077 memory usage when running large mods and/or a high number of mods resulting in extremely high system memory usage. It will not adversely impact gameplay but can help improve game stability by preventing memory usage spikes.

There's no a "memory optimizer" in it so no it doesn't have such a feature. Also don't fall into believing that you need a memory optimizer they're complete bulls**t to be blunt that can actually cause performance to suffer. Windows can manage the memory itself.

This is where a process allocates itself some memory but doesn't free it up again after use, so the memory in use keeps growing.
Restarting the computer will clear the memory usage down but it will then start increasing again.

- The program reduces the amount of "In Use" memory and pushes that to the "Standby" part of the memory. Then the regular memory management will be forced to make decisions on what to do next. The program will also reduce the impact of memory leaks.

Sounds to me like the standard Windows issue: Too many unnecessary programs and possibly some services running at startup. Optimize the system by disabling unnecessary and non-essential startup programs.

If the system is using an integrated Intel GPU that relies upon available system RAM which is probably one of the reasons many recommend 8GB RAM, and why most computers (at a certain price point) have at least 8GB (note that low priced systems may only have 4GB to 6GB).

I am running a HP laptop, with 8 GB ram, and Windows 10. I consider 1.6 GB mem usage, as shown by Task Manager, as my baseline number. That's because it always resets to 1.6 GB when one of these three things occur. After getting the usage reset to 1.6 GB by one of the 3 methods, then the usage begins to creep up over time as I use the computer, and after it reaches about 4 GB then I perform one of these 3 things:

- Install PcWinTech's CLEANMEM. Then there's no need to reboot your system to get memory usage lower. Because it runs every 15 minutes using Task Scheduler and then reduces memory usage. The program uses an API that's build into Windows itself (Windows XP and newer).

Thanks, Andavari, i'm not concerned just because of the number 4 GB. Sometimes it gets higher than that, but since I've discovered methods to reduce it, i use them when the number gets to around 4 GB. That's fairly arbitrary. And yes, when the usage approaches 4 GB and higher there is a noticeable slow down of general operation of the laptop.
