We have recently started using Dameware and Mini Remote. When I use Mini Remote to connect to a users pc I'm finding that it changes their desktop display settings. These changes are tied to mini remote because they were reported within a minute of me connecting to their pc for the first time. And, it was reported by users in the order in which I connected to their pc's. One right after the other. I'm aware of two specific changes: the color scheme changes (minor in the big picture but it's the little things that keep them happy), the task bar for example was a deep blue now it's a muted gray color. The biggest complaint is that the windows preview when you mouse over an application icon in the task bar changes from window previews to a list. Previously, if you had multiple word documents open and had it set to not combined icons it would show one Word icon in the task bar. If you would mouse over the Word icon it would pop up little windows for each document you had open and as you mouse over each window preview it would temporarily display that document maximized on the screen. Now, it only pops up a list, that's in, no interactive preview or anything.

I have tested my MRC connection to different systems, and I am currently connected to a Windows 10 system and it displays the Aero visual mouse over. I did have Desktop Pattern and Font Smoothing Disabled.

Thank you for the suggestion. I found that Desktop Pattern and Font Smoothing were also disabled in our settings. After enabling them and connecting to one of the effected users, it did not improve their situation. Any other thoughts?

We had a pretty similar situation, caused by DWMRC 11.2. This problem is solved in Hotfix 1, which addresses "The Mirror Driver is not disabled after disconnect (Aero issue)". We had to manually uninstall the Mirror Driver from the Device Manager on the remote machines.

Is it possible to have a warning to the end user before making a remote connection with Dameware MRC? I just started using this and some users are a bit weirded out that I can just jump in and start controlling their screen without any sort of warning message. The only indicator is the small icon on the windows taskbar, but most users have the taskbar hidden so from their perspective they don't know when I connect or disconnect.

I noticed I can change the settings before installing the Dameware Remote Client agent under the Additional Settings tab , but how can I make these settings the default for any installation? Or to be more specific, how can I make this setting the default behavior when one of my co-workers installs the agent on another remote computer before their remote session?

Yes would really like to know a way to makes this happen as well. Ideally, every remote control session would begin by asking permission. Is there a way to tell the service to always be installed with the permission required option selected?

The customer portal is where you can submit a help desk ticket, find all of the information about the products you own, and see available hotfixes and upgrades as well as training opportunities for your products.

Sometime when connecting to high resolution clients, my dameware mrc does not let me move the window on my screen. I am connected to two clients right now for example. One is at 1024x768. The dameware "window" has a menu bar (File, Send, Monitor...) and buttons, and the display of this remote machine is integrated within this window. I can minimize, maximize, close or drag this window around no problem.

The other machine I am connected to is 1920x1080. The view of this remote machine is separated from the dameware toolbar in the top middle of my screen. The window border around the view of the remote machine is so thin that there is nothing to grab ahold of to move this window around my screens. I can only really awkwardly resize it to move it to another monitor or another place on my screen. How could I get the view of this remote machine attached with the menu bar and tool bar, like the other machine? There's no way to disconnect either. Well one would have to close it from the taskbar. If you click the little X in the top anchored, centered toolbar that is detached from the remote PC view, that toolbar goes away permanently . unless you close dameware and reopen it.

Ok I figured out the "view full screen" toolbar icon will make it windowed (Menu bar, toolbar and remote view all in one window). This was misleading to me because "view full screen" makes me think of Remote Desktop if you maximize it. View full screen in dameware simply to me could have been called detach toolbar from remote view.

Do you need a way to control your laptop or desktop computer remotely? DameWare Mini Remote Control is a lightweight program that lets you manage, configure, and install applications on your PC from another computer.

Uptodown is a multi-platform app store specialized in Android. Our goal is to provide free and open access to a large catalog of apps without restrictions, while providing a legal distribution platform accessible from any browser, and also through its official native app.

However, a significant group of our customers are on other domains, and I've not found a great way yet to remote onto them. We need to remote onto end user's workstation when they need support. I've tried emailing them a link to the internet session (File>Invite User to join remote session), but it's a bit clunky - the user has to tell me their email address, then I have to type it into the to: field, then they have to wait for the email, open it up, etc.etc.. Is there a quicker way to invite a user to join? In the past, I've used a system of sharing a PIN number, although I can't recall whether that was using MRC or another product... !

I tried to connect with MRC 9 and got the below error. I tried again on 11 and got the same thing. Another PC with MRC is having the same issue. Other remote PCs are fine. I removed the remote service and the issue persists. Any ideas?

I am setting up Dameware 10 Remote Control Tool on a few systems and am having an issue getting connected to remote systems using my CAC. We have both admin and regular certs on the CAC but will be using the admin cert to do the remote control assistance.

After inspecting the security logs on the client system I see that the error is because its attempting to use my regular user account, not my admin account. Even tho we are running the MRC tool using admin cert credentials.
