Talkback page error

Dear,

I am getting the error and I mentioned correct username and password but still getting the error following error and I am also exploring the site of Miami talkback page and they also have the same issue

I tried both gmail and office same authentication error. Could anyone help me on this issue.

Hi Abid,

Well, it looks like something is wrong with SMTP on your end.  You might want to look at that Troubleshooting page linked above.  The SMTP credentials are entered in Config > Email.

I submitted on um but there it showing the error. If you submit the feedback/suggestion in um platform then you can see the error above the header about the smtp.

Aha, I see what you are saying. We don't really use Talkback on our site anymore, so I had no idea this was happening.  We'll take a look and see what's going on.

And also the email is not displayed in the question by field, It is showing Anonymous.

Please see lines 357-374 in talkback.php for reference to "Anonymous." That is the default.

In regards to the PHPMailer issue, the settings are dependent on how your IT department has your SMTP servers configured. For example, our IT department doesn't require a username password, but it does require SubjectsPlus to be whitelisted on their smtp server. The reason ours is not working is because we are in the process of migrating our instance of SubjectsPlus to a new Azure App Service Plan and it has not been white listed yet.

Please use the PHPMailer documentation to determine what settings are required for the SMTP server at your institution.
