Has anyone here used the API to bring content into Wordpress?  I'm in the process of both developing subjectsplus and an actual library website for my library, and thought it would be nice if I could take the API output and pull it right into wordpress, but I'm not so confident in using Javascript!

Thanks,
Michelle

Hello Michelle,

James Little, one of the developers at the University of Miami, has developed a plugin for Wordpress using the SubjectsPlus API.

There is a README that will help with setup, but most likely the only configurations that would need to be changed is:

$subjectsplus->set_sp_url("http://subjectsplus.com/spum/api/") (place URL of SP installation's api folder;
$subjectsplus->set_sp_key(""); (place installation api key)

Thanks,
David

Unfortunately, I can't seem to make it work.  I'm trying this on a clean WP install (3.6) and a brand-new SP install (on my personal webspace so I can have control of everything).  I know the api is working, and I'm pretty sure I've got his settings right, but no luck.  Wonder if it's a WP version issue . . . I don't know James - would he mind if I emailed him personally do you think?

We've just started using WordPress and the solution we've employed is the plugin "Advanced iframe" (http://wordpress.org/plugins/advanced-iframe/screenshots/)

Interesting.  This was the other direction I was considering for the guides themselves as opposed to figuring out how to export a Wordpress header that would work on the SP site or finagling all the code from the WP header to fit in SP!   I hadn't seen that plugin yet, I'll check it out.

Hi all,

I would like to use WordPress with SubjetsPlus and above plugin (https://github.com/little9/spshortcode). How can I know my API key of subjectsplus for configuration?

Thanks a lot.

If you go to Admin > Config Site there will be an option to enable the API and you'll get the key there.

Hi,

This is a pretty old thread.  What were you wanting to know about SubjectsPlus and WordPress?  Here at the University of Miami we use both, with our main site mostly divided between the two systems.

Andrew
