[66] Surah At-Tahrim [The Prohibition]

Ayat 9. O Prophet (Muhammad ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) ! Strive hard against the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and be severe against them, their abode will be Hell, and worst indeed is that destination.

Tafseer of Surah At-Tahrim Ayat 9. O Prophet ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) ! Strive hard against the Unbelievers and the Hypocrites, and be firm against them. Their abode is Hell, an evil refuge (indeed). 9:73, where the same words introduce the argument against the Hypocrites. Here they introduce the argument against wickedness, which, though given the privilege of association with goodness and piety, persisted in wicked deeds, and in favour of those noble souls, which, though tied to wickedness, retained their purity and integrity. Two examples of each kind are given-of women, as this Surah is mainly concerned with women.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Uqbah bin `Amir Juhani (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) saying, "Lands shall be laid open to you, and Allah will suffice you (against your enemies), but none of you should neglect practicing his skill in archery.''

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah At-Tahrim [The Prohibition] Ayat 09. “Strive hard against the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and be severe against them" Muslims have been informed through this Hadith that gates of conquest of many regions will be opened on them in future. Almighty Allah will favour them with special help; and because of this help enemies will not be able to cause any harm to them. But it is essential that they should not slack in acquiring the material resources required for war, nor neglect military preparations and exercises. Modern military weapons and new style of warfare have now taken the place of archery, and Muslims should master all of them.
