English Translation of Al-Quran

[60] Surah Al-Mumtahanah [That Which Examines]

Ayat 7. Perhaps Allah will make friendship between you and those whom you hold as enemies. And Allah has power (over all things), and Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Tafseer of Surah Al-Mumtahanah (That Which Examines) Ayat 7. It may be that Allah will grant love (and friendship) between you and those whom ye (now) hold as enemies. For Allah has power (over all things); And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. Apparent religious hatred or enmity or persecution may be due to ignorance or over-zeal in a soul, which Allah will forgive and use eventually in His service, as happened in the case of 'Umar, who was a different man before and after his conversion. As stated in in earlier Ayat, we should hate evil, but not men as such.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Salman bin `Amir (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) saying, "When one of you breaks his Saum (fasting), let him break it on dates; if he does not have any, break his fast with water for it is pure.''
