S-67 Ayat 006-07.jpg

English Translation of Al-Quran

[67] Surah Al-Mulk [The Dominion]

Ayat 6. And for those who disbelieve in their Lord (Allah) is the torment of Hell, and worst indeed is that destination.

Ayat 7. When they are cast therein, they will hear the (terrible) drawing in of its breath as it blazes forth.

Tafseer of Surah 67. Al Mulk (The Dominion) 6. For those who reject their Lord (and Cherisher) is the Penalty of Hell: and evil is (such), Destination. We have seen how the fire in the stars can suggest the beauty and order of the external world; and yet, when it meets with resistance and disharmony, it can burn and destroy. So in the moral and spiritual world. What can be a greater sign of evil, disharmony, and rebellion than to reject the Cherisher and Sustainer, on Whom our life depends, and from Whom we receive nothing but goodness? The Punishment, then, is Fire in its fiercest intensity, as typified in the next two verses. 7. When they are cast therein, they will hear the (terrible) drawing in of its breath even as it blazes forth, For skahiq see 11:106. There shahiq (sobs) was contrasted with zafir (sighs): in the one case it is the drawing in of breath, and in the other the emission of a deep breath. Here the latter process is represented by the verb fara, to swell, to blaze forth, to gush forth. In 11:40, the verb fara was applied to the gushing forth of the waters of the Flood: here the verb is applied to the blazing forth of the Fire of Punishment. Fire is personified: in its intake it has a fierce appetite: in the flames which it throws out, it has a fierce aggressiveness. And yet in ultimate result evil meets the same fate, whether typified by water or fire.

Hadith # 627 (2).jpg

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah  [SAWW](PBUH) was asked about the deed which will be foremost to lead a man to Jannah. He replied, "Fear of Allah and the good conduct.'' Then he was asked about indulgence which will admit a man to Hell (Fire) and he answered, "The tongue and the genitals.''

[At-Tirmidhi Hadith # 2004].

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Al-Mulk Ayat 6. And for those who disbelieve in their Lord (Allah) is the torment of Hell, and worst indeed is that destination” This is also a very comprehensive Hadith. Fear of Allah really links up a man to Him, and moral refinement prevents him from falling short of his duties to people. To be sure, adherence to this two-fold practice will cause the entry of a lot of people to Jannah. Many a man, on the other hand, has a long, sharp and dangerous tongue and this causes him to pour out heretic utterances and indulge in backbiting, slandering and abusive and nonsensical talk. All this activity leads to Hell. As for genitals, an unwary and unrestrained attitude incites one to indulge in immoral pursuits. In both these cases countless people will be led into Hell. For this reason, it is imperative for everybody to develop Taqwa (consciousness of Allah / fear of Allah) and refined behavior and shun the wickedness of tongue and genitals so that his life in the Hereafter may not be ruined.
