ICMP is a treaty-based international organization with Headquarters in The Hague, the Netherlands. It is the only international organization tasked exclusively to work on the issue of missing persons.
Since its inception in 1913, the CIE has become a professional organization and has been accepted as representing the best authority on the subject and as such is recognized by ISO as an international standardization body.
The Advisory Committee to the U.S. Section to the International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas was established under the Atlantic Tunas Convention Act. The committee comprises individuals representing commercial industries, recreational fishing organizations, environmental groups and academia. Committee members are nominated every 2 years and give advice to U.S. ICCAT commissioners on international issues related to the conservation and management of Atlantic highly migratory species.

The International Commission on Illumination (usually abbreviated CIE for its French name, Commission internationale de l'éclairage) is the international authority on light, illumination, colour, and colour spaces. It was established in 1913 as a successor to the Commission Internationale de Photométrie, which was founded in 1900, and is today based in Vienna, Austria.
After a long, pandemic-related dry spell, two international workshops took place in presence at the ICPR in autumn 2023. On 18 September, experts for non-target screening met at the ICPR secretariat. On 4 October, a workshop on heavy rain and flash floods was held at the BMUV in Bonn.
The winner of the annual prize will receive a commission for an original work for select instruments. The specific instrumentation will change each year to complement an existing work by Henri Lazarof, and the commissioned piece will be performed alongside Lazarof's work.

The Commission is investigating allegations of abuse and serious violations of international human rights law and international humanitarian law, including allegations of conflict-related sexual violence, throughout Mali.
To inform its deliberations, the commission engaged with external expertise and invited responses to a public call for evidence during September 2019. The questions used in the public call for evidence are available to download (PDF).

However, the primary purpose of that 1949 conference was to formulate a Convention (international treaty) pertaining to management of the fisheries of the Northwest Atlantic outside the territorial seas of the Coastal States, west of 42º W longitude, between 39º W and 78º 10'N latitude. The key outcome and the Final Act of the conference was the publication of a Fisheries Treaty known as the International Convention for the Northwest Atlantic Fisheries.
In his Millennium Report to the United Nations General Assembly, Secretary-General Kofi Annan challenged the international community to address the real dilemmas posed by intervention and sovereignty. The independent International Commission on Intervention and State Sovereignty (ICISS) was established by the Canadian government in September 2000 to respond to that challenge.

In the present report, submitted pursuant to Human Rights Council resolution 49/1, the Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Ukraine outlines the main findings since the outset of its mandate. The body of evidence collected shows that Russian authorities have committed a wide range of violations of international human rights law and international humanitarian law in many regions of Ukraine and in the Russian Federation.
Many of these amount to war crimes and include wilful killings, attacks on civilians, unlawful confinement, torture, rape, and forced transfers and deportations of children.
The Commission has concluded that Russian armed forces have carried out attacks with explosive weapons in populated areas with an apparent disregard for civilian harm and suffering. It has documented indiscriminate and disproportionate attacks, and a failure to take precautions, in violation of international humanitarian law.
Founded in 2001 in Mexico City, the International Commission for the History of Meteorology (ICHM) has over 300 members from 49 countries. The ICHM is an official commission of the International Union of History and Philosophy of Science. The Commission publishes a peer-reviewed journal, History of Meteorology, and regularly organizes and sponsors conferences and workshops. We have met in Washington D.C., the foothills of the Bavarian Alps, in Rio de Janeiro (2008 & 2017), and in a surprisingly sunny Manchester (2013)! The International Commission of Inquiry into the 1932-33 Famine in Ukraine, created on February 14, 1988, deposited one complete set of recorded testimonies, submissions, and documentary exhibits used in their investigation at the Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute in September 1994. The original records are deposited at the Nobel Institute of Norway (Drammensveien 19, 0255 Oslo-2, Norway). The records of the International Commission of Inquiry contain 1,714 pages of testimonies of famine eyewitnesses and prominent international experts of Stalin's terror policy, and an additional 7, 274 pages of documentary evidence including diplomatic reports, publications, and Soviet decrees.

INHIGEO achieves its objective by sponsoring a major annual symposium on specific themes with associated publications while fieldtrips on the history of geology of the host country complement the scientific sessions and promote awareness of this cultural resource for society. The commission issues a substantial "Annual Record" that details historical research into earth sciences worldwide by members, publicises pertinent historical activities, gives reports of ongoing projects/tasks and provides scholarly reviews. The primary objective of INHIGEO involves promoting studies in the history of geological disciplines . In so doing, the Commission endeavours to stimulate and coordinate the activities of regional, national, and international organizations having shared purposes. The Commission also works to foster the publication of individual and collective works that illuminate the history of the geological sciences .
INHIGEO is an ongoing Commission, which acts within an international context and with an interdisciplinary approach, addressing the varied topics of history of Earth sciences within congresses, symposia, articles, books, collections of documents and digitalisation projects.
