The whole kingdom, as well as the animals and King Brion are moved to tears as Rakhal and the princess, mounted on their steed, ride away from the castle and the enchanted forest with the little prince. As soon as they are out of the forest, Aurora appears to the young and beautiful couple and their child. She bows down before the little prince, and calls him her king and puts herself at his disposal, because he is the child of the fifth prophecy. Aurora surrounds them with a band of light and carries them to the ice palace of Rakhal's parents.

Here, celebrations in the icy kingdom continue for many days. Then Rakhal announces that he will leave with Kindra and their child for the land of the dinosaurs. There, his welcome is most extraordinary, and the population accompanies them to the palace. Chaca, Myellin and Cordall are waiting for them on the outskirts, together with the five little dinosaurs and knights of nature. While Rakhal embraces his friends of many adventures, the child of the fifth prophecy then walks away from this gathering, and goes toward the throne room.

Chaca, Myellin, Cordall and all the others turn toward the throne and see the child of the fifth prophecy smiling in blinding splendor. Chaca, Myellin, Cordall, the knights of nature and the five little dinosaurs bow down in the most absolute silence. When the crowd outside the palace sees the strong rays of light come out of the palace, they too bow down.

The light comes out through the entrance, and all the windows. Chaca stands and shouts "Long live the king!" Then everyone together shouts, "Long live the king!" Chaca turns toward the outside and shouts to the crowd, "Inhabitants of the Land of the Dinosaurs, finally we have our king! The child of the fifth prophecy is among us!" The crowd rises up exploding in a huge cheer, "Long live the child of the fifth prophecy. Long live the king!"

Most of us learned the basic life story of Christopher Columbus in school, although as has been reported, the National Education Association wishes to rewrite history and how it is taught in our schools today. Even when the story of Columbus has been told, a fact that is often overlooked is that Columbus believed his discovery of the New World was necessary in order to fulfill an ancient prophecy.

Fulfillment of the millennial prophecy also called for a last crusade. This was to be led by a final world emperor, who would take back the Holy Land. Because of their vast power and religious convictions, Columbus may have viewed the Spanish monarchs, Ferdinand and Isabella, as suitable for this role.

Thousands of Italians are fleeing Rome, believing that on May 11 an enormous earthquake is going to shatter the Eternal city. The panic comes from a prophecy Raffaele Bendandi supposedly made before his death in 1979. Reuters reports that Bendandi believed earthquakes were caused by movements of the planets, moon and sun and were predictable.

The idea of juxtaposing the prophets with the Apostles stems from the medieval passion for showing how the events and figures of the Old Testament prefigure those of the New Testament. The sibyls were ancient prophets who, though known to the artists of the Middle Ages, were not frequently represented until the Italian humanist, Filippo Barbieri, published a treatise in 1481 in which he attributed to each sibyl a certain age, appearance, attribute, and particular prophecy which corresponded to that of an Old Testament prophet.

The figures, identified by their fluttering scrolls, are dressed in fantastic robes which may in part reflect the costumes of actors in the mystery plays. The Cimmerian Sibyl holds a horn of plenty which refers to the prophecy of Joel that the Lord would relieve the suffering of His people, and to the golden age promised in the Fourth Eclogue of Vergil. In the center is the Old Testament prophet, David, the forefather of Jesus, who is playing his harp. He is flanked by the Phrygian Sibyl who holds the cross-staff with a pennant, the symbol of the resurrection of Christ.

53. The conception of mirrors and their relationship to prophecy appearsin Jewish sources as early as the rabbinic tradition (e.g.,Lev. Rabba 20), a passage that would be subsequentlyinterpreted by medieval Jewish authors.
