hi,

After installing an Intel 80387 in my box, I got strange results with
the 'ico' program that comes with X11R5.

The motion of the cube is indeed faster than without FPU, but it is no
longer smooth but seems to be interrupted in random intervals. Sometimes
it stops totally for a very short time, sometimes the lines are not
redrawn properly.

Looks, like screen i/o is kind of frozen when FP-instructions are generated.
The same effect is with 'xgas'.

Any suggestions ?

A few new facts:

I've just compiled the server with 'DLOCALCONN' instead of 'DTCPCONN'.
Surprise, surprise : The cube is fast without blackouts !! So-- the
problem seems to lie within SCO TCP/IP. In fact, the whole server is
a lot faster without TCP. (nearly as fast as my old X11R4).

What can I do to my TCP ? Are there any kernel parameters, I should try to
tune? What about FrameMaker ? Does this program rely on TCP connections ?

Thanks in advance.
