Hello everyone,
I am new to SUAVE and Python.I installed Anaconda.I downloaded the SUAVE Version 2.4 source code and then opened the directory SUAVE/trunk.I started up an Anaconda prompt window and then run this command: python setup.py install. I did the installation. I tried to run the tut_mission_B737 tutorial in Spyder but I could not run SUAVE codes.Did I do the installation wrong?
This is what I get:
UnsupportedOperation:fileno
How could I fix this? Could you help me please?
Thanks in advance .1.PNG2.PNG

Hi,

I tried to run the tut_mission_B737_AVL but I appear to get the exact same error. It reads:

File "C:\Users\richa\AppData\Local\Programs\Python\Python39\lib\subprocess.py", line 1304, in _get_handles
    errwrite = msvcrt.get_osfhandle(stderr.fileno())

UnsupportedOperation: fileno

I'm wondering what the cause of this error is and how can it be fixed?

Thanks,

Richard Z

It seems that using the Spyder IDE is the casue of the problem. The script works as intended when you run tut_mission_B737_AVL from the command prompt. I will try other IDEs and see if it works.

Hi,

Did you download the AVL before you tried to run the tut_mission B737 AVL?

Hi,

Yes I downloaded AVL before. I believe the issue is to do with an iPython console which is used on some IDEs such as Spyder and Jupyter. Running the script from PyCharm, Visual Studio Code and command prompt works perfectly as intended.
