an experienced software developer for our e.News software
development. ClariNet offers the opportunity to develop innovative
systems for the information marketplace with the true Internet
spirit.
Applicants should have two or more years professional development
experience in related areas. Unix and C development experience are
required; Internet, esp. NNTP or newsreaders experience strongly
preferred. Experience with textual information processing, esp.
classification is highly desirable. Other valuable technology
experience include: search engines, CGI, HTTP and HTML internals,
compilers or parsers, browser plugins, ANPA formats.
Projects will include:
* Design and development for our news processing system and
newsproc language. This system filters incoming news wire
articles into various Internet formats, adding classifications
based on article context and history.
* Development of tools for human editors to classify, edit, link,
and format news articles.
* Development of tools for newsfeed control, managing a highly
reliable multi-machine system, and managing incoming wire feeds
for round-the-clock system operation.
* Design and development of a new generation of Web-based methods of
news classfication, structuring, and distribution.
* Development of new content/sources, presentation methods, and
organizing technology for net-based information services.
