Lecture Notes for Friday, May 31

On May 31, I will be giving the class lecture on writing packages and
programming with options. The Mathematica Notebook that I will be
using during the lecture is now in /usr/class/cs050/lectures/packages.ma
or /class/cs050/lectures/packages.ma depending on how you access the files
on elaine-best.stanford.edu. The file packages.ps, in that same directory,
contains a PostScript version of the Mathematica Notebook. It will be
handout #19. Also note that there are three packages in that same directory
that I may discuss in the lecture. They are

Legend.m histogram.m histogramWithOpts.m

I encourage you to pick up a copy of the Mathematica Warning Messages
Technical Report that Wolfram Research, Inc. (the developers of Mathematica)
has generously given to this class. Julien has copies of this guide
for everyone taking the class. If you do not pick up your copy directly
from Julian, you can pick up your copy in class this Friday.

We will be distributing course evaluation form on Friday. I encourage you to
attend class on Friday so that you can complete a course evaluation.
