All the input statements in "The Mathematica Graphics Guidebook"
(Addison-Wesley, 1995, ISBN 0-201-53280-8) by Cameron Smith and
Nancy Blachman are included in the directory /usr/class/cs050/graphics.
There are files containing the inputs from the chapters, the appendix,
and the color plates. Files with names that terminate in ".ma" are
intended to be opened with the Mathematica Notebook Front End.
chapter1.ma chapter4.ma chapter7.ma
chapter2.ma chapter5.ma color.ma
chapter3.ma chapter6.ma appendix.ma
Start up the Notebook Front End and then open up a file by
selecting the menu item "Open" in the "File" menu.
Graphics are included in the files "appendix.ma" and "color.ma."
You can generate or regenerate a graphic by putting your cursor in
an input line or cell and (1) hitting the enter key, (2) depressing
the shift and return keys simultaneously, or (3) selecting the menu
item "Evaluate Selection" from the "Action" menu.
You may need to resize the graphics to make them resemble the images
in the book. If you have a small amount of RAM, you may not be able
to run all the inputs on this disk during a single Mathematica session.
When an input does not produce the results shown in the book, we
recommend that you start a new Mathematica session and re-execute
the input. If you still have problems, please send your input
together with the result you obtained to Nancy Blachman.
May you create useful, interesting, and attractive graphics.
