I think I found a little bug. When I edit the cut group, I can't edit
it back to OFF (it only goes down to 0).

The cut groups also seem to go up indefinitely, which is a bit
strange. Doesn't hurt, but it doesn't seem to make sense to have more
cut groups than pads.

respect!

Yes, we know that bug, thank you. It is trivial and will be fixed
soon.

We definitely need more CGs than pads. The reason is that cut groups
are for samples, not for pads. Even if a sample is no more assigned to
a pad, it still cuts other samples of the same CG in the mix.

One thing I noticed is that hitting a pad multiple times in quick
succession makes the samples sound truncated. This is especially
noticeable on snare hits where the attack transient is sharp and
short.

I also notice a sort of discontinuity sound when a sample is
retriggered sometimes. I'm guessing this is because sample playback is
halted at a non-zero crossing. I would prioritize responsiveness over
these minor of artifacts, but if you can get away with doing a quick
fade or blend without hurting performance, it might make things sound
cleaner.

will the final version have on-device .wav export? It would be pretty
cool to get this to play well with reloop (and other apps).

Has possibly the lowest latency of any android app I've tried. I'd
still like to get it lower, but maybe we're hitting the limits of
android <=2.2. I heard there are some big improvements in 2.3... may
take a while before it gets widely adopted though.

The sound cuts itself (if you hit a pad twice the second sound will immediately stop the first one) but it will never start playing from the point other than 0 (start).
So if that's the case, please report us how exactly that happens.
However, please check that your sample does not have silence at its beginning, which might be confusing in this situation.

Latency has been our top priority. However, it is still different on various devices that run various background processes etc.

Yes, we will have WAV export for sure.

Sorry for a late answer - been working on the release version a lot ;)

No prob, good luck with the release.

Have you tried allowing for visual feedback to be disabled? I was a
bit surprised that in Borce's "my drums" app it actually made a
noticeable difference. Of course, the same may not apply to your code.

One way I can consistently reproduce the issue - hit a snare twice
quickly in succession. Then wait and hit the snare again. The third
one will be truncated regardless of how long it's been since the first
two. This is probably only observable with a cropped snare with a very
quick attack/decay transient (it's not as noticeable with some
samples, even snares).

I'll try to record an example later if you have trouble reproducing
it.

What's your device again please?
Also, did you try using a task killer to kill everything except MPA?

Hey ivan,

Think im using the same device as you - droid2. I am using task killer/
disabling sync and that helps with latency. But nothing quite gets rid
of this missing attack transient thing (like I said though its pretty
subtle and only noticeable on some samples).

Also, a lot of my samples (like the electrum packs) dont seem to load,
though they preview just fine. I think this is just a sampling rate
issue... but you may want to look into loading some other samples like
the electrum ones and see if there's an issue more than an
incomparable sample rate...
