Hi all,

I'm working as the union environment officer, and after visiting a
recent london uni recycling conference, I got talking to the people
who help london uni halls get recycling.

Our halls management haven't got any recycling program started this
year at all, but I'm still hoping for a late start over the easter
break, so when students return in early May, they have the bins, bags
and facilities they need.

I'm assuming easter is a fairly quiet time, with fewer students
about, so implementing halls recycling would be easier and less
disruptive. Is this assumption way off?

Does anyone here have any advice on how to get these halls managers
to move faster than glacial speed over this?

Hi Chris,

I have been facing the same problem with Brunel. I have been trying to get recycling in all aspects of the University. I have had some results on the Halls aspect, although mainly in the S.U. I did a simple survey of the facilities and asked those that I could and reported the results to the SU president. I then offered some suggestions which have mostly been taken into consideration. I would assume that the same thing would work with the Halls managers. These people are next on my list, with the Library, Media Centres, Catering etc.

Hope this helps
Samuel
