Are you involved in debating or positive student activism at
University?

Do you have a lot to speak out about with the present state of the
world and current global issues?

Do you have questions to pose about leading an ethical lifestyle? Do
you want the opportunity to pose questions to leading individuals in
our society?

If you think you are an individual who can positively speak out and
debate in a clear and interesting manner, and would like to be on our
Student Debate Panel as part of the New Consumer November re-launch,
then please contact us.

Please not your interest (via email only) to
Jen Marsden
j...@newconsumer.org with 'Student Debate Panel' as the subject, stating
why you would be a valuable member and what you offer that is
different.

Dear New Consumer,

My name is Sophie Day and I'm the Environment and Social Justice officer
for the University of Nottingham Student's Union. I've been involved in
environmental and social issues my whole life and been very active
within the university over the past year. I've had grassroots
experience and am now working with a major corporation like body where I
can create real change. Some of my major campaigns this year include
ethical investment, awareness of the practices and boycotting of brands
such as Coca-Cola and improving recycling in a city with a terrible
recycling track record. So far we have received transparency from the
university and a willingness to discuss how they can become socially
responsible investors. Even if not on the panel, I would very much like
to attend the debate as I personally really like New Consumer magazine.
It's very informative and great at positively promoting ethical
alternatives rather that just always highlighting the negative. Please
keep me informed. Thanks.

Kind regards,

Sophie
