Dear Students:

We were all very sorry to see Dr. Latimer depart this winter, and I appreciate the challenge of transitioning to a new advisor.  Thank you for being patient as we identified sometime to fill Dr. Latimer’s shoes.  I’d also like to appreciate our current Nathans faculty for stepping in to fill the void when Dr. Latimer stepped down.

So, here’s the good news!  We’ve identified an outstanding individual,  Arun Venkatesan, MD, PhD, from the Department of Neurology, to fill Dr. Latimer’s position beginning June 1^st.  

Please join me in welcoming, Dr. Venkatesan (aven...@jhmi.edu) to Nathans College!  Drs. Goldstein and Levine will help with welcoming and transitioning arrangements.  If any of you will be traveling and away for the summer, I hope you’ll opportunity to meet Dr. Venkatesan this month before you depart.

Best wishes to all.  Our selection committee (students and faculty) were all so excited to select Dr. Venkatesan, and we hope you’ll be just as delighted when you meet him.  Please let me know if I can be of assistance in this transition period.

In addition to. The thing from 2:00-3:30 is in place of the thing on our schedule for Friday June 14 called "CAP Small Group Advising". I think he's just not free to do that on Friday so it was moved to Monday. The thing he just proposed to me from 1-2 is more of a "get to know you" lunch thing. At least that's how I understand it.
