You can travel with them to save the FFL fees. Locked case to protect/secure your firearms and your VI firearm license/s to present to CBP if requested. Arrive early to the airport, and inform the ticket counter you are traveling with "UNLOADED" firearms to be checked as luggage. After a few confused looks and two or three discussions with a supervisor, the fill out an FAA tag, stick it on the inside of your gun case, and off your guns go. Retrieve them after you clear CBP, and hand them over to TSA to be swabbed for explosive residue. That's pretty much it (in summary). Good luck in Mississippi... The VI has once again lost another shooter...
