I'll be there!
Three responses from those who had time to respond, and stop watching bollywood you know the cavalry shows up just in the nick of time !!!!!!!!
A real big 'problem' is that this list only has 268 members. We need a VIGOs group, not just a STXGO. And it needs to be as inclusive as possible.
I've had close to 3000 students in the last 20 years. Around 100 already this year. They should all be part of this list, so when a call for
action goes out, they hear it. I need to be able to tell my students, 'By the way, you need to join this emial list, to keep aprised of local events
that affect gun owners."
Only a small percentage of people will heed the call. So we need large numbers, so that the 'percentage' is big.
Phone calls to senators and the Governor make a difference. Especially if they get rained on by phone calls.
And If we could tell several thousand people who they should, and shouldn't vote for, we'd be in much better shape.
Gun owners have the numbers to dominate elections, if they weilded their votes in a concerted manner.
And here is a prediction: The PD Commissioner has been hit with several law suits from frustrated gun owners. He knows he doesn't have a 'legal'
leg to stand on, so he's caved on them. I predict his response will be to approach the Senate about getting the laws changed to make them even
more restrictive. Look for caliber restrictions and total numbers of guns allowed to be owned to become 'law' and not just a 'rule'.
Of course, the commisioner, by VI code, can promulgate rules and regulations as he sees fit: " The Commissioner may issue, modify and amend, from time to time, such rules and regulations, not inconsistent with this chapter or the provisions of other law, which he may deem necessary or appropriate to carry out the purposes of this chapter, which rules and regulations, upon approval by the Governor, shall have the force and effect of law.
"The Police Commissioner shall issue rules and regulations, not inconsistent with the provisions of law, pertaining to the use and control of firearms used by employees of security, guard, patrol and private detective services. Such rules and regulations, upon approval by the Governor and the Legislature, shall have the force and effect of law. Upon such approval, the Commissioner shall cause such rules and regulations to be published and he shall provide each duly licensed security, guard, patrol and private detective service with copies thereof."
from Title 23 of the VI Code

Just tell me who to call and the number.
Count me in! It's about time we stop a one person-decision makes them as they see fit! Why are the law abiding citizens being sht on and the criminals don't have to put up with these stupid decisions? I' ll be there. Andre |
John has already formed VIRPA (virgin islands rifle and pistol association) but we like the simplicity of VIGO for the blog. We will make the changes in the near future. Now can we focus on the plan? Prepare for the phone attack and come out on Tuesday to hear John's talking points! But look here, we need more people to respond. Our numbers suck! Tace et Face. NativwGun Sent from my iPhone |

Is the meeting at a building or outside between two parking area in Castle Coakley?
The meeting is at Trend Setter Group on left side as soon as you drive between 47th St Jewelers and Quality Auto Parts.
Well done John! Keep that up and you shouldn't have any problems getting in. I noticed you didn't say anything about guns... ;)
The first time I talked to Holland Redfield was when I attended a fundraiser for Julio Brady and their run for Govenor/Lt. Governor. In a very neutral manner I asked him what
he thought about guns. Without pause or hesitation, he looked me in the eye and told me that he thought only military and police should have guns. Some Republican...

I know I forgot to ask him a question but at least he is backing John 100%. Wish John got to finish his speech which included reduction in senate and another topic...sorry John forgot I know you briefly mentioned it to me.
Guns talk will come soon I'm waiting because that department has too many issues including only receipt as license to conceal and carry since 2010?!? They need to come better than that. I'll be next one to submit a complaint soon I'm sure of it.

I was kidding. I probably wouldn't mention guns. Answer questions if asked, in a neutral manner. Guns are too polarizing a subject right now. You don't want to come across as too reactionary.
True likewise any senator voiced opinion against or trying to take away rights has guaranteed to not receiving my vote.
