This is pay walled for me but the abstract looks interesting. I don't think anyone has actually used the analytic solution for the holonomic kinematic loop constraint before, but they claim to have done it. Jaap Meijaard spoke on this at BMD last year.

I'm not sure what the value of doing this is, as the symbolic equations are already long enough if you don't do this.
