You log into Netflix at the end of a long work day. You are all settled on the couch with your snacks and beverage of choice. You select the movie's title but all of a sudden, the audio is not in your preferred language.

On the mobile app, select "Edit" in the upper right of the screen. Then click your profile icon. Go to "Display Language" and choose your preferred language. Select the arrow in the top left and then "Done."

If you are watching something and want to change the audio or subtitles once it has already started, select "Audio & Subtitles" on the pause screen with the word bubble icon. Then choose the language.

I am using my iphone to control Netflix on my apple tv because my apple remote is broken. I used to hold the middle button to change the language and subtitles but this function does not seem to be available on the iphone app (control centre)

One surprising fact about English is that, despite being the world's most-spoken language, many people don't speak it. Media from around the world are becoming more popular to the point that English-language content accounts for a slim majority of the thousands of titles on US Netflix. Sometimes, when watching these foreign-language films and TV shows, it's sufficient to watch them with the English dub. If you're after a more immersive experience, watch it on a nice tablet and change your Netflix settings so that it plays in the original language.

Now that you have a handle on how to change your language settings, you can dive into Netflix's foreign-language catalog with the sort of self-satisfaction only a hipster could muster. And if you feel like watching with your foreign-language practice partner, check out how to share your Netflix screen over Discord.

You can change your Netflix account settings to Chinese in a couple clicks. This will change the user interface language to Chinese, which is helpful if you can read Chinese. Changing the account language to Chinese DOES NOT mean that any show you watch will play in Chinese. Only shows that have Chinese Audio available will play in Chinese.

Netflix accounts can default to the English language version instead of the original audio with subtitles. If you want subtitles instead that's easy to fix. Here's how to change the subtitle settings in Netflix and watch all your favourite foreign language shows as they were intended.

Tap or click the button to bring up the list of options. For Dark for example you want to switch the language to German and the subtitles to English (that's if you're an English speaker wanting to watch in Dark's original German obviously). If it's Lupin, that's French language and subtitles English.

You essentially follow the same method as the Fire Stick on Roku devices. To change the basic options do this within the Roku Netflix app, but to access more options do this within the Netflix account on a web browser.

Again the same process as Roku or a Fire Stick. For Android or iOS you can play something on Netflix and change the settings then. The difference is you cannot do this from a title's description page like on Roku or Fire Stick.

If you're now ready to remove the subtitles, tried and they're still not disappearing then it could be for a variety of reasons. Older Smart TVs sometimes have these issues. You can go on another device and remove them if this is the case.

Netflix isn't just an English language streaming service with content from around the globe. You can easily watch films and shows in other languages. There are also options for changing the language of the audio, subtitles, or on your profile, no matter where you live. Let's explore!

If you have multiple Netflix profiles, you can set one (or more) of them to use another language. If you're learning a new language, this might help you become more proficient. It can also separate your Netflix recommendations between languages if you're multilingual.

Unfortunately, it isn't possible to change your Netflix profile language on an iPhone, iPad, Android app, or other platforms. You have to do this in a web browser, but the settings you change will be applied across your Netflix account.

The language Netflix displays in that profile will now be the one you selected. Additionally, if a TV show or movie you're watching has audio streams or subtitles available in that language, Netflix will use these by default.

If you only want to change the audio and subtitle language on one program, you can do this during playback. Netflix will default to your chosen profile language, but you can switch to any others that are available.

However, by default, Netflix only displays up to seven alternative languages you can switch to during playback. If the language you want isn't listed, you'll have to switch your profile language to it as we covered above.

The methods below outline how to change the language of Netflix audio and subtitles during playback via the web and on mobile. However, the steps should be similar on other devices, including smart TVs.

The process for changing the audio and subtitle language is similar on the Netflix app for iPhone, iPad, or Android. Simply begin playing the show or film in the Netflix app, and then tap the screen to see the playback options.

The highly-popular streaming service, Netflix, offers content and settings in several languages. While the feature is great, this can lead to confusion when the screen displays a language other than your native tongue. Perhaps someone set the language accidentally, someone else is using your account, or you need to update the language from the default.

If you are using Netflix on a computer, whether it be a PC, Mac or Chromebook, changing the language settings for Netflix is the same process. Follow the steps below to change the language on Netflix:

Getting the wrong language setup on the mobile version of the Netflix app can happen as well. Fortunately, it is a relatively easy problem to fix. If you want to switch the current default language of Netflix for Android, follow these steps:

Any language changes made on your Netflix account done on the website should reflect on your Roku TV as well. The changes are not platform-dependent, so you can follow the instructions given either on the PC or Android versions to change the settings for Roku. If you want to change the subtitles and audio on the Roku device itself, do the following:

There is not technically a default language setting for the Netflix app. The program automatically sets the language when you create a profile, which is the default. If you save any language changes, that will be the new default. You will need to navigate to the language options again to revert back. Depending on your platform, refer to the PC or Android instructions above to change your language settings to a new default.

Changing the language settings for Netflix can be somewhat confusing, especially when you can not even read the choices. Knowing and remembering how to change the dialect back to something you can understand will help avoid headaches if this does occur.

If you want to change the spoken language on Netflix on Apple TV, while the show is playing, swipe downwards on your Apple TV remote. In the menu that appears, you can then select which language you want the show to play in, both for audio or subtitles.

As one of the best streaming services available, Netflix also has plenty of choice when it comes to subtitles and audio dubbing for its content. So we'll show you how to change Netflix language for both the menus and the individual shows/movies.

You were about to watch your most-loved show on Netflix, a popular streaming service that delivers content in several languages. But the moment you log into Netflix, your entire account is in another language. Or you have the subtitles and audio settings also in a completely different language. Chances are, someone else changed the language accidentally or someone in your multilingual household was using your account. This is also possible that you just need to set a different language from the default.

If your Netflix settings for language keep changing to something different from English, it is possible that someone has mistakenly changed it. We suggest locking your Netflix account. You could alter your Netflix password to increase security. Moreover, you can also remove the user from the Login.

However, if Netflix shows a different state or country or you wish to stream content that is restricted then you should consider using the help of a VPN. You can download free VPN applications or purchase premium ones such as ExpressVPN, NordVPN, or Surfshark to access additional services.

You can give subtitles a refresh by changing them before returning to the original one. You can open subtitles for any video. Select a different language, then leave the video. Play the video again and search for English subtitles.
