Most printers require that you install the latest printer driver to help the printer work well. Your driver could also be damaged if you've experienced power outages, computer viruses, or other problems. If your printer isn't responding, downloading and installing the latest printer driver can often resolve these problems.
Most printers require that you install the latest printer driver so that the printer will work well. If you recently upgraded from an earlier version of Windows, your printer driver might work with the previous version but might not work well or at all with Windows 10. I am "getting up to speed" on a Canon Pixma Pro-200 Printer. I see articles that suggest that the correct printer driver may not actually be running when installing to a MAC running os 13.4 (Ventura). Maybe AirPrint is installed instead.
I suspect this as:
1. The Canon Pro-200 dialog from the MAC preferences tab only offers General and Supply Levels in the dialog and I see no UTILITY option.
2. Under KIND, I read Canon PRO-200 series - AirPrint
Without the Utility tab, there are printer set up options and changes that I am unable to make.
I found a Canon document that references this issue but when I follow the instruction for installing the proper driver , I am unsuccessful and see the same info as I reported earlier.
2. In System Settings->Printers & Scanners select the option to add a printer and wait for the Canon printer driver to appear. It could take several minutes. Generally the first driver to appear is the Apple AirPrint Driver.
Thank you very much. This helped me. A must is to use the proper driver and not select to soon which will be the AirPrint driver which will be incorrect.

This morning I installed an upgrade of Nitro Pro (v. 13.70.2.40), but unfortunately the PDF Creator seems to be missing, so I cannot print to PDF. I tried some 'solutions' that are on the internet, but whatever I try (i.e., NitroPDFSupportTools.exe) there's always a message that 'Installatie van printer driver mislukt' (Installation printer driver failed). I subsequently uninstalled the software and re-installed it, to no avail.
For what it's worth, the Nitro Pro Nitro Pro 13.70.2.40 has a much cleaner and user-friendly layout than the 13.24.1.467 I was using until this morning's upgrade. Also, the image quality after conversion is a big and welcome improvement. On the other hand, opening and especially saving a long document (50-60 pages) is extremely slow, and there has been a '500' error message while saving several times (trying again has so far always resolved the issue, but it's something I never noticed with the previous version).
I have been using Nitro Pro ever since version 9, with upgrades to each subsecutive version, without any problems ever. The conversion from Windows 10 to 11 (in December 2021, so over a year ago) has not caused any errors either. It's only after I upgraded from version 13.24.1.467 to 13.70.2.40 last week that I ran into the problem of the missing printer driver for the first time. I suspect there have been updates between these two versions, but I have never checked for updates or, for that matter, installed any. So the issue may have existed in some version after 13.24.1.467, but it's impossible to verify.
For what it's worth and for your information, the add-in in Microsoft Office doesn't work either - when trying to create a PDF document, there is an error message 'An unknown error has occurred.' But note that I don't use this option ('saving as' a PDF document is my usual way of creating a PDF from within Microsoft Office; I am now working on a project in music editing software, and do need a separate PDF printer).
No, it's the Dutch version. I checked the Country/Region setting in the Control Panel to make sure (unless there is still some other place to check), and the 'Current country system' setting (Huidige systeemlandinstelling) clearly shows 'Nederlands (Nederland)' (Dutch (Netherlands)).
I wonder if it is possible to get a previous full installation file (instead of the download assistant), prior to 13.70.2.40, which I could install and see if that makes a difference. As I mentioned earlier, the layout is a vast improvement over the version I was using before and I would hate to go back. But if it may help you solve the issue, I'd be happy to uninstall the current version, run the Nitro Cleanup Tool, and reinstall a previous version to see what happens.
Note that this is the PDFCreator version 11, but it works in my case. For what it's worth, I didn't see any difference with a previous version 13 that I was using, unless my memory is letting me down ;-).
Hij wil de installatie niet doen omdat het account al bestaat heeft hij aan. Moet ik nitro 13 eerst compleet verwijderen?
Translation:
He does not want to do the installation because the account already exists, he has it on. Do I have to completely remove nitro 13 first?
I'm afraid I must pass here as I'm not a computer specialist by any standard - I managed to get things working by some trial-and-error. For what it's worth, I assume you did manage to find the link to PDF Creator v.11? If not, I would suggest that one of the moderators put a direct link in this forum for both x86 and x64 versions until such time that the issue is resolved for the full Nitro Pro 13.
Even so, when installing the stand-alone PDF Creator, things went perfectly smooth in my case: the v.11 software was installed next to the full Nitro Pro v.13 package; there were no error messages or references to an existing account or anything.
As yet another alternative, you may want to try another brand's PDF creator until Nitro has resolved things: Until I came across Nitro's stand-alone v.11, for a few days I used CutePDF Writer which is free of charge and works in the same way. Personally, I always prefer to stay within the same company's software, but if creating PDFs or printing to PDF is important to you (and 'saving to PDF' as from within MS Office applications isn't an option), that may be the way to go for the time being.
I also tried a few other full software packages, but in terms of features and user-friendliness none come close to Nitro Pro (i.e., for my personal requirements), hence I think it's important to consider whatever temporary solution that best fits your needs.
I have the same issue, my Windows 11 Pro 22H2 is originally German (Austria). I notified Nitro Support on Dec 2, 2022.
Based on the feedback in this thread I changed all my regional settings English (United Kingdom), rebooted and reinstalled Nitro Pro 13. Unfortunately the printer was not installed ?
Dec 2, 2022 - That's a month and a half before I reported this issue. Or 3,5 months during which Nitro has not been able to resolve what should be a fairly simple issue to resolve. E.g., consider the fact that the stand-alone version 11 is working... It reflects poorly on Nitro, to be honest, and I for one will reconsider alternative software. Come on, Nitro, don't let your customers down and prove you're one of the best.

The scanner drivers are all visible, but the printer driver/app is not. The manual indicates that I should be able to find and open the printer driver app in the Appications folder. It is not there, though the sanner drivers are. Ran the installer two more times, with no help. Spotlite search does not find a file with the driver name anywhere on the disk.

"Not sure exactly what you are trying to do, but if you go into System Preferences->Printers & Scanners you will see your printer."
I guess it's not really right to say the driver isn't there. Just as you say, the printer is there in the Printers & Scanners prefs. Though that didn't appear, either, without a fair amount of mucking about. While mucking, I browsed the manual PDF looking for clues. I was trying to set the printer up over Wi-Fi. I found references to printer utilities that I should find if I looked in the Mac's "Applications" folder. (Unfortunately, the manual is copy protected - and there appears to be no way to upload a screen shot here ... [invalid file type error]) ...
The manual says:
Starting up IJ Network Tool
1. Select Applications from the Go menu of Finder, double-click Canon Utilities > IJ Network Tool, and double-click the Canon IJ Network Tool icon.
>> Note
You can also start up IJ Network Tool by clicking Network Settings from Device Settings & Maintenance on Quick Menu.
There is no IJ Network Tool installed anywhere in my Applications folder. I must assume that "Quick Menu" ia a part of that tool. In any case, none of that stuff is available. Searching disk-wide for "IJ" found only scanning utilities that were installed with the scanner drivers. No new printing utilities were found. As I remember, there was no sign of the printer, either, until I discovered its IP address using my Wi-Fi router and brought it in manually (though I could be dis-remembering this puzzle-piece).
All this seems to have happened because the printer's install CD was unreadable. I assumed that downloading and installing the printer driver would also yield an installation of the utilities. It did for the scanner drivers, after all ... That's what happens when assuming, I guess. Patterns don't always generalize.
