It sounded like the meeting wasn't happening, and anyway, I do need to
do the shopping thing with Carol. We had talked about it a few days
ago and then I forgot about it and remembered again.

I can do tomorrow morning, but not at the IPRC unless I can get a ride
home (need to take the train out west around noonish).

Okay, let's just all make brunch and have a meeting tomorrow morning at Katy's at 10?

I might go to APE with Ruji, so I got to get more printing done ASAP. What well help with that is that I should be getting my new laptop in thew next couple days (i ordered it on Sunday).

Our next meeting needs to be at IPRC and we should probably have a couple before APE and the travel issue comes out. But we can talk more about these things tomorrow, at the meeting.

One thing I want to seriously propose is doing another call for the travel issue, deadline of October 23rd, because I feel it's way too skimpy and were behind on planning the release party anyways. We could have it come out in November. Maybe we could also push back the pets issue until November 23rd to balance that.

Seems Jon is still sleeping.

We have already missed the date we set for the Travel party which was the last week of Aug at Bridgecity.

Sept 23rd is the deadline for Pets. And that party is scheduled for the last week of Oct.

I think it best we try to get back on track instead of start pushing things back again. That's how we got behind in the first place. I want people to see us as a reliable outlet for their work.

We can try to set up the Travel party the first week of Oct and the Pets party the last week of Oct or the first week of Nov. And then we will be caught back up.  I think we should keep the Sept 23rd deadline for Pets. Just promote it more.

I don't think we should extend the deadline for Travel AGAIN. If it is a smaller issue it is a smaller issue. I'm ok with accepting that and moving on.

We do need to make more copies of everything we can before APE.

Also happy to hear you are getting a new laptop, Blue. I bet that makes you happy!! It's going to feel so good being able to interface better. Congrats!!

Hope the party was a blast, Katy. Most of your parties are pretty rad so I am sure it was fun times. 8)

I just voted on all the travel submissions I could find. I don't want
to resort to accepting sub-par submissions just to increase the page
count. Right now we only have 13 pages worth of material that meets my
standards. (I'm including my own submissions in that. Narcissism!)
That's obviously not enough, but I think if we just did a limited
deadline extension (contacting specific people and asking them to
submit instead of announcing it to the public) we could get enough
material.

Also, if every editor submitted something we might have enough! Come on guys!

I think a limited deadline extension sounds good, emailing specific people and giving until October 23rd and we can ask Michael to have the release party at Bridge City in the beginning of November?

I will email those that submitted and probably got in to let them know, let's get some constructive critiques written up for everyone else and finish votes on what we currently have?
