Did you know that Stumptown Underground is collectively organized? Well, it is. Each organizer/editor has a say in every decision Stumptown Underground makes, we all pitch in (as we can) to pay for publishing costs (and get reimbursed as we sell issues), we all hand out fliers, we all vote on every submission we receive for each issue, and so on! Right now, two of our organizer/editors are out of the country, we’ve had a couple editors that have moved on, and two editors get really freaking busy every year during the Portland Zine Symposium. So, right now, we’re really feeling the need for extra hands.

If you’re interested in becoming a Stumptown Underground organizer/editor, email us to try it out! All potential new organizer/editors have to be unanimously approved by the current members (we have a tightly-knit crew going on here that works well together, we want to keep it that way) and we’d love to have answers to these few questions when you inquire about joining on our organizer team…

1) What is your creative background?

2) Why does helping with Stumptown Underground appeal to you?

3) What skills/talents do you feel you particularly possess(ways in which you are awesome) that would add to our awesomeness?

We seriously need a couple more DEDICATED and PASSIONATE organizers, so even if you have little experience with zines (organizer Jon was  very inexperienced when he joined, now he’s practically an expert), shoot us an email!

Thanks,
Editor/Organizer Blue!
