Dear Undergroundians,

First, here's a
Stumptown Comics Fest recap!

Thanks to all of our contributors, fans, and first-time inquirers for stopping by our table at the Stumptown Comics Fest last weekend! We really appreciate your support and it was inspiring to be surrounded by so many talented, creative folks. We also enjoyed meeting some of our out-of-town contributors who flew in for the fest, where we debuted 6 Stumptown Underground buttons made from the cover art of some of our issues by Alex Wrekk at Small World Buttons. We hope you had a chance to stop by and check out the latest Stumptown Underground publication—Everyone Do The Robot!

Lots of you showed up for the awards ceremony at Cosmic Monkey and may have been served complimentary beverages by the editors of Stumptown Underground. We hope you stuck around long enough to check out the comic art battle, which ended in a dance-off with some seriously killer moves. We editors were pretty dead on our feet by the end of the night but were back at our table bright and early the next morning for Day 2 of SCF.

Thanks again to everyone who stopped by, said hello, picked up a flier, bought an issue or two, or promised to submit. You guys make the long nights and early mornings worth it! We hope to see you at SCF next year..
.

What's next for Stumptown Underground?

Well, we're finalizing the family issue (thanks for all your submissions everyone!) and, if you haven't heard from us already, you should hear about your submissions really, really soon. What we can tell you is that the release party will be May 22nd... So, save the date! We'll have a pretty-little-press-release out to everyone by May 5th with the full details.

The next submissions deadline we have coming up is May 23rd for our 10th issue, themed around mythology/fairytales/folktalescheck out the submissions call here

Aaaaaand a big, big piece of news! We're announcing TWO new ways to get Stumptown Underground... Starting now, you can become a subscriber or a supporter

- Basically, becoming a subscriber means sending us a payment and info and getting the next 3, 6, 9, or 12 issues as they're published
- Becoming a supporter is just showing us some extra love (by love, we paying us extra money) and getting issues plus some other goodies (like a link on our website, buttons or even personalized letters from the editors). When becoming a supporter, the issues you receive can be past issues, a subscription to new issues, or both!

Seriously everyone, we're so happy with where this project has taken us and grateful that we can keep it going and expand what we do!

Sincerely,
Blue, Katie, and the rest of the Stumptown Underground Editors
