Hey Undergroundians!

We're finishing printing of "City Folk" tonight, so be sure to come out to the release party this Friday at City Hall! Our release party for "City Folk" will be March 26th at City Hall, appropriately enough, from 5pm-7pm. You'll be able to meet and greet with the issue's contributors, purchase copies of "City Folk" for $5 (contributors get 2 copies each) before all your friends, as well as partake in choice beverages provided by Widmere Brewery and Stumptown Underground for your enjoyment.   http://groups.google.com/group/stumptownunderground/web/city-folk-zine-release-party-at-city-hall

This is your reminder that your robots submissions were due yesterday! If  you sent something in, expect to hear from us within the next few days... Our next two themes are family (the deadline is April 23rd) and mythology/fairy tales/folktales (the deadline is May 23rd). 

In other news, we'd like to give everyone warning that, starting with issue 10, we're going to only be giving contributers one copy of the issue if they make it in. If you've ever wondered where all the money to print SU comes from, it's out of the pockets of the organizers and, while we all find making this monthly anthology very rewarding, we're looking for ways to get ourselves out of the monetary hole. If you want to help, please know that anyone is welcome to only take one copy of the city issue or to just throw money at us. <3

Another way you can help is to just spread the word about Stumptown Underground! We're always down to take orders by email and, of course, having more potential contributors is good, too.
