Hey Undergroundians,

Here's a heads up on our next submissions deadline (June 23rd) for our bikes (and other self-propelled transportation) issue! Check out the full submissions call here: http://groups.google.com/group/stumptownunderground/web/submissions-call---issue-11

The deadline for the mythology/folktales/fairy tales issue was May 23rd and we got a ton of great submissions. We're now in the voting process and, if you submitted, you should here back from us soon.

If you live in Portland, you probably know that this week is Last Thursday! To help get our issues out of out longboxes and into the hands of the zine-curious, we're going to start setting up at Last Thursdays. Part of our mission as a collective is not just to get people creating more with the chance to be published, but to help get their work out into the world and seen. So, following in that spirit, we try to table at as many events as we can and create big and fun events for our release parties. Tabling at Last Thursday is another exciting opportunity to show Portland what and who Stumptown Underground is made of! Look for our big blue table cloth and handmade sign (we look kind of like this) on Alberta Thursday night during Last Thursday and say hi! We'll be running our usual deals ($1 off each issue if you buy more than one) and having a grand ol' time. We'll tweet our exact location on Alberta Street (we can't say ahead of time because it's a first come, first serve sort of set up at that fun street fair.
