...stupid stuff Shawn did wastes even more time once he is back in Korea.
This stupid stuff would be easily mended in one's home country. I however have found this stupid stuff to have taken a great deal of time during my extra week of vacation.
For the first few days back in Korea I was puzzled as to why my phone would not work. A Korean friend is technically the owner of my phone, as it is kind of difficult for a foreigner to own a cell phone. After he took a brief look at my phone Thursday night he quickly diagnosed the problem and I felt appropriately foolish.
When in the States I took the SD Card out of my Korean phone in an attempt to use an American SD Card. This did not work. One would think that upon finding this does not work I would have placed the Korean SD Card back into the Korean phone. I apparently did not do this.
Today I went into the cell phone shop to get a new SD Card. In the slew of Korean from the clerk I believe I discern something about going the bank. I respond with a sideways confused puppy face.
Clerk (in English): Get SD card. Go to bank.
Shawn: Jinjayo? (really?) Naneun eunheng gayo? (I bank go?) SD caduh jeoyo? (sd card give?)
Clerk: Yes.
So I went to the bank where they indeed mysteriously give out new sd cards. They then told me with the help of a translating friend on the phone that I need to get a chip of some kind at one of the branch offices. So, I am now going to get on the bus and meet my phone-owner-friend where we can hopefully get this taken care of.

Ah, so, now you see
how people over 50 deal with technology.
We stumble over terms that a younger person quickly learns,
while they view us as having the intelligence of ferns.
But somehow, someway, we muddle through
which is just what you now have to do!
