Hey Guys,
I will be missing you this week as I sit on the beach in Portugal staring off at the mediterranean sunset...sipping fine sangria and letting the latin beats carry my lightly bronzed skin away.
Anyways, here is the assignment for the week...due by Friday since we won't be meeting during a fixed time. =)
WHO IS GOD? We've been talking about this concept a lot, but this week we will be diving into some specific scriptures that speak directly to the Lord's character and attributes. When reading the Word revealed through scripture, many things stick out to us when it comes to God, his nature, and how he wants us to see him. This week we'll be revisiting two of the most important aspects of the Lord...the two that if taken seriously, inform all the other attributes of God: First, he's in CONTROL. He's a completely SOVEREIGN God and nothing happens outside of his watchful gaze. Second, he's GOOD and he's the only one who is good. When taken together it can be confusing, hard, and sometimes painful to reconcile these things. We'll be discussing this and how it impacts our abilities to walk into hard/messy situations with students.
READ Isaiah 43:1 - 45:13; Psalm 139; Luke 18:18-30; Ezekiel 20:27-44.
REFLECT: write out how you see God's goodness and his sovereignty reflected in these passages. What particular parts were especially impactful for you?
Looking forward to reading you responses and then writing out my thoughts. Talk to you soon!
