That teamStats.json data is pretty close to what I would need for my stuff as it sort of mimicks the team stats section of a box score.  However, it's missing the following data from what I would call the standard historical box score (example: http://www.adjustedstats.com/ratings-stats/boxes/2013gm0001.txt):

Rushing Touchdowns
Average Per Completion*
Passing Touchdowns
Net Yards Per Punt
KICKOFFS-YARDS
Average Yards Per Kickoff
Net Yards Per Kickoff
Touchbacks.
Punt returns TD
  Average Per Return*
Kickoff returns TD
  Average Per Return*
Interceptions TD
Fumble Returns: Number-Yds-TD
Miscellaneous Yards
Possession Time
Red-Zone Scores-Chances
Sacks By: Number-Yards
PAT Kicks
Field Goals
* - Can be calculated based on available information.
Now that I typed it out it seems like a lot. Anyway, does anyone have a source for all that data for each game? For now I will continue to go to each team's site each week to get the data I guess. Any help would obviously be appreciated. Would love to be able to use the NCAA site as a one-stop shop.

The boxscore.json has most of what you need. The play by play json could be used to calculate most of the rest. Does that help?

That site seems to redirect nowadays.  I already have the old data, but I was curious if anyone knew of any other play-by-play databases available for the current year.  Is anyone willing to help crowdsource the data or share the cost?

Does anyone know if the json format above is still valid for the updated NCAA stats site?  I could come up with something to parse all the data, but my scraping skills are intermediate at best..... wanted to see if anyone here was willing to team up and tackle it.

There is a project in the works at the CFB Analysis sub-reddit to create an open source play-by-play data set. I would browse the recent threads on the topic and offer your services when they fit, it is in the early stages but a lot of people seem to want to help.
