Hey Matthew,I've had a chance to look at the data and it really is a great resource, thanks again for putting all this together. I do have a question though that maybe you or someone else may know. Did anything about the way the 247 Composite rating is calculated change in 2008? In 2008 there are 377 players rated from 1.2-1.5, while in all other years the max ratings is 1.0. It seems too affect the bigger teams the most (Bama, ND, Miami, etc..), so maybe some service overweighted 5 and 4 stars. I'm just curious if anyone has an idea why this discrepancy is occurring.Thanks,- Matt
Sorry, was traveling this weekend. Will take a look at this tonight.

As a follow up, I've also posted a first pass roster merge file, where I took the CFBStats data for 2006-2013 and merged it with the 247 and ESPN recruiting data. Warning: the html file is LARGE (> 20MB) since there's over 100,000 lines of data. But I think it could be useful for anyone interested in doing recruiting analysis. Anyway, that's my big offseason data project. I'll probably play with trying to improve the mapping a bit (>40% of lines have no 247 match and >40% have no ESPN match, though a good chunk of that is due to missing 247/ESPN data, presence of non-recruited walkons, and the fact that I have roster data starting 2006 but recruiting data starting 2005/2006, which means a lot of 2006/2007 players won't show up as being recruited).--

As noted in the article descriptions, there are holes in the data, the data may be somewhat buggy, etc. But I think that overall it's quite good, and a big step up from the lack of data that's been around to date.
