i. We do have people with no environmental background although they are a minority in the course. It's hard to evaluate your chances - we would need to see your CV and read your explanation of why you are interested in environmental issues. If there is a credible commitment to the environment and reasonable prospects for a good environmental career as well as we can see the ability to follow the curriculum - the chances are higher
ii. It might be challenging for you to follow the curriculum although we had lawyers doing brilliantly in all parts of the course, including science, in the past. I would not invest in enrolling into an environmental course before getting confirmed admission. At that stage you could ask our advice on how to prepare for your studies.
