What is referred to as clean Android is exactly what FP is using (along with a few other manufacturers). The thing is that Google intentionally makes some things exclusive only to Pixels (especially the camera app, the Pixel launcher, and some Google Assistant features). As far as I know, FP uses the default Android launcher (Quickstep) and the only custom apps are Camera and My Fairphone. The other tweaks you mentioned (volume, brightness etc.) have to be addressed by any manufacturer (even Google) as it depends on the actual hardware used by the device.

I have used clean project a few times after breaking my tutorial app. I did this by doing a refactor or some other fancy command on a variable. I don't actually know what android studio is doing in the background and I am wondering if anyone can give a good detailed answer in simple English. :)

Clean action, basically invoking ./gradle clean task in your application directory, which is removing all generated files, removes build folders. So basically next time you will run/build all the artifacts will be builded from the scratch and will not be reused.

Cleaning an Android project simply deletes the build directory. It removes the .class files that are generated when you compile your project and then recompiles again. As per my experience, whenever I move my Android Studio project folder in another location in same or different hard drive, it gives an error while running the project. In that case, cleaning the project helps eliminating the errors by re-building the project from scratch and to run successfully. To clear a project in Studio, go to Build > Clean Project. Done.

All the advice above should help you get your Android device working crisply again. In most cases, cleaning the Android system frees up available storage, improves performance, and generally makes the phone or tablet a pleasure to use again.

After I did it, I got a black screen for longer than I expected. My phone restarted & I took away permission. Not sure if I'd recommend the deep clean without more information about what it is really doing.

I am trying to clean my project from the terminal inside the android studio by typing "./gradlew" clean as it is described in the docs: -cmdline.html, however I get the message: "./gradlew: command not found". Has anyone faced and/or solved this issue?

I had the same problem. Tried to uninstall and reinstall but still didn't work. Went into settings, Apps and notifications, App info, scrolled down to Norton Clean and opened it. Clicked on Force Stop and in Storage, cleared the Cache and Data. Reopened Norton Clean and it started working. Also, the day counter on report card started to increment up each day that I initiated a clean.

Well, these are the 3 steps I always do when I encounter weird errors. The last step "delete .gradle" folder is not usual, but it helps to save disk spaces. Maybe it is good to clean this up once a while?

In addition to being a proactive anti-malware and anti-phishing tool, it also offers a fast malware and virus scan Android users can appreciate. So, here is how to clean your phone from virus threats with Malwarebytes:

The Malwarebytes Android virus scan may take a few seconds or minutes to provide a counter of threats detected. Use Malwarebytes to remediate any threats and clean phone of viruses and other unwanted programs. If Malwarebytes found no malware, your device is safe for now.

I am wondering is there a way to completly delete all data on the phone(including system, kernel...) and reinstalling clean system, something that would be equivalent to formating hard drive and reinstalling system on PC.

Using your example...Formatting a hard drive on a desktop computer (depending on quick or full format) effectively writes 0s to all (or at least enough) memory addresses to where the drive will assume it's been wiped clean. Any data recovery specialist will claim otherwise though, since data can most always be recovered.

But if all your looking to do is to start fresh with a clean OS and you're not concerned about data recovery then you can simply do a factory reset via settings menu (remove Google account first!), via recovery menu (remove Google account first!), or if you have/are able to have an unlocked bootloader then you can manually flash the stock firmware via fastboot.

Consider this: your phone is always with you. It's in your wallet, purse, or backpack. And it gathers up dust, filth, and fingerprints wherever it goes. All of that dust can accumulate on your camera lens and degrade the quality of your photographs. So, in this piece, we will go through all of the most accessible methods for cleaning an Android camera lens.

You probably don't think about cleaning your Android camera lens very often, if at all. However, if you use your smartphone outside, or if you use your camera in dusty or dirty conditions, you should clean your lens on a regular basis. Here are some guidelines for cleaning your Android camera lens.

Of course, you don't have to wait until your lens is filthy to clean it; a little wipe down every now and then won't hurt. And if you frequently use your phone camera in low-light circumstances, it's extremely crucial to maintain the lens clean to avoid fuzzy photos.

If you've found that your images are fuzzy or have strange lines running through them, it's definitely time to clean the lens of your camera. While you could hire a professional to clean it, it's rather simple to perform at home with only a dry microfiber cloth.

A lens protector is a device that is used to protect the camera lens from scratches, dirt, and other debris. Lens protectors come in a variety of styles, but they all serve the same purpose: to keep your camera's lens clean and free of damage.

You can rest assured that your camera's lens will be protected from scratches, dirt, and debris once the lens protector is in place. Simply remove the lens shield and wipe it down with a soft, dry cloth to clean the lens.

The camera lens on an Android device is a fragile piece of technology that must be handled with care. This includes avoiding the use of harsh chemicals, abrasive materials, and anything else that could harm the lens. Here are some things you should avoid using to clean the lens of your Android camera:

If you need to clean the lens of your Android camera, use a soft, dry cloth. If persistent stains will not come off with a dry cloth, put a gentle cleaning solution on camera lenses. Avoid doing anything that could damage the lens, and clean it according to the manufacturer's recommendations.

We sell technological devices as well as cleaning supplies intended exclusively for camera lenses. These items are also available online from a variety of merchants. Before selecting a cleaning product, carefully check the label to ensure that it is safe to use on your specific type camera lens. Some cleaners can harm delicate lens coatings, so choose one that is specifically designed for use on camera lenses.

Once you've discovered an appropriate cleaning product, carefully follow the instructions on the label.Make care to use a soft, clean cloth to gently wash the lens surface in a circular motion. Avoid vigorously rubbing the lens because doing so could scratch or harm it. After using these suggestions, if your camera lens is still not clean, you might need to take it to a pro for a deeper clean. But you shouldn't have any issues maintaining your camera in good shape if you take good care of it and clean the lens frequently.

It is advised to avoid using your camera if you intend to take photos or movies in an area with a lot of sand or dust. These specks can easily become lodged in the lens, causing scratches or other damage. If you must use your camera in these circumstances, make sure to thoroughly clean the lens afterward.
