Hi, hello everyone and thank you for Studioware! :)

I wanted to install it on my 14.2 slackware fresh installation but I'm experiencing
an issue with the "potrace" package that unfortunately broke the whole installation process. :(

I started buiding and installing Studioware with:
sepkg -q audio

The build process hung with the following error message:
Error: Source checksum doesn't match.

File: potrace-1.15.tar.gz
Source: d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e
Expected: 60cecdaa9d14e0008f96b68dce77d246

(A)bort, (C)ontinue, (R)edownload

Pressing (R) doesn't solve the issue. Pressing (C) the following error message appears:
Starting potrace SlackBuild

tar
: This does not look like a tar archive

gzip
: stdin: unexpected end of file
tar
: Child returned status 1
tar
: Error is not recoverable: exiting now

End of build log follows. See /tmp/sepkg.log for full error.

When the potrace package "breaks" the installation process, I've got installed only 64 packages.
Please could you help me to solve the issue?

Hi

Sorry about that.

It seems potrace was updated to 1.16 and the old 1.15 source code was removed,
so sepkg was getting a 404 on it. This happens sometimes unfortunately.

I've updated the slackbuild to use the 1.16 source, so you'll need to run sepkg
-u and then restart the build list again.

You can deselect anything that's already installed in the menu.

If any more do the same, drop another post here.

Cheers

Dave

There's a button for it - bottom right:

That <Clear Inst'd> really does the magic! :) It's really very useful!

It would be nice if the number of packages to be installed was also updated after pressing the button <Clear Inst'd>
(or simply manually deselecting one of them).
I'm talking about the number shown in parenthesis at the top left sinceit continues to show the total number ("153")
of packages to install even after pressing the <Clear Inst'd> which deselect some of them (64 packages in my case).

Thank you again!

Hi! I resumed the build process for the remaining packages but the build process unfortunately hung on the "numactl" package.

Should be OK now. I've updated it to 2.0.12, so you'll need to do a
sepkg -u again etc, like last time.

The build process stopped on the ./configure of the qjackctl. I miss the QT5 libraries.
Here is the log:

checking

checking
for qmake... /usr/bin/qmake
checking

checking

configure
: error: qmake-qt5 not found in current PATH. Maybe QT development environment isn't available. (qt5-devel)

I noticed that the "sepkg -q audio" doesn't provide the build and the installation of the qt5 libraries. Am I wrong?

So, how can I proceed? Can I build the qt5 package (and the dependencies: libxkbcommon, libinput) by using the Slackbuilds on slackbuilds.org
..."outside" the Studioware installation process OR, alternatively, have I to follow a special procedure for Studioware?

QjackCtl successfully compiled :) but it seems that QSynth needs Qt5, too! :(

I suppose that QSynth should be downgraded, too. Considering the update of the various
programs, wouldn't it be worthwhile to include the Qt5 in Studioware (while maintaining Qt4)?
Obviously, It wants only to be a ..."tiny" consideration, IMHO! ;)

It might be easier to install aienBOB's qt5 package for now. I
really wanted to avoid having qt5 as part of studioware until it is
in stock slackware itself, because of the long compile time, so I'm
not sure how those sneaked in.

You can find his packages in the pkg and pkg64 folders here:

http://www.slackware.com/~alien/slackbuilds/qt5/

You will also need his libinput and libxkbcommon packages too. The
.meta files list any needed dependencies in the 'PACKAGE REQUIRED'
line.

We may not be able to persuade Hindus that Jesus and not Vishnu should govern
their spiritual horizon, nor Moslems that Lord Buddha is at the center of
their spiritual universe, nor Hebrews that Mohammed is a major prohpet, nor
Christians that Shinto best expresses their spiritual concerns, to say
nothing of the fact that we may not be able to get Christians to agree among
themselves about their relationship to God. But all will agree on a
proposition that they possess profound spiritual resources. If, in addition,
we can get them to accept the further proposition that whatever form the
Deity may have in their own theology, the Deity is not only external, but
internal and acts through them, and they themselves give proof or disproof
of the Deity in what they do and think; if this further proposition can be
accepted, then we come that much closer to a truly religious situation on
earth.
