One big opportunity

Stu, civil society advocates from across the globe will gather in Apia, Samoa to have frank and open discussions about the challenges facing our world, the first time the Commonwealth People’s Forum will be held on a Pacific island.

Connections that form at the People’s Forum last. They provide a chance for civil society to learn from one another and work together to create change.

It’s also an opportunity to influence world leaders gathering at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.

Watch now and find out what’s at stake:

Held every two years, the forum is the single largest opportunity for civil society to engage Commonwealth leaders.

It’s a moment for dialogue, for unity, and for change.

This year, it’s also the culmination of a year-long consultation process involving 3,000 activists and experts from every country in the Commonwealth.

Together, we’ll table what the People of the Commonwealth want: a set of succinct recommendations for governments and institutions across the Commonwealth drawn from the consultation.

The theme of this year’s forum is resilience. How do you interpret this theme, Stu? Watch our explainer video, and share your views in the comments:

Not going to be at the People’s Forum in person? We’ll be streaming all the events live online so you can tune in.

Together, let’s create a more just and equal Commonwealth.

With warm wishes,

Commonwealth Foundation
