Culture Club Online

Eileen Gray: Textiles, Space and the Feminine Modern

Friday, 24 July 2026, 1pm

Our Culture Clubs are a great way to explore art in a stimulating and friendly environment. Join us for an illustrated talk with Paula Arning, UCD PhD candidate, where Eileen Gray’s iconic modernist architectural wonder, villa E-1027, at Cap Moderne in the south of France will be discussed. The villa is an exemplar of the thought and attention that Eileen Gray put into every detail of the design including the fixed and free-standing furniture, lamps and decorations that are inseparable from it. Eileen Gray spent three  years designing the furniture and working with her partner Jean Badovici on the plans for E-1027.

  • Fee: FREE, advance booking required. This is an online talk. A link will be distributed prior to the event.
