As racial tensions continue to impact communities across Belfast, many parents, carers, educators and community members are asking the same questions:
How do we talk to children about what they're seeing?
How do we respond to questions about race and racism?
How can we help children feel safe, supported and informed?
Join Still I Rise Diversity Storytelling for an informal and supportive online conversation with Briana Fitzsimons, Anti-Racism Educator and Author.
This session will provide a trusted space to ask questions, share concerns, learn from one another, and access practical guidance and resources to support children during this time.
Together, we will explore:
• Race and racism with children
• Talking to children about race
• Supporting children through riots, unrest and community tensions
• Having difficult conversations with confidence
• Practical resources and strategies for home, school and community settings
This is not a formal training session. It is an opportunity for open conversation, reflection, learning and community support.
Whether you are a parent, teacher, youth worker, community leader or someone who cares about children and young people, you are welcome to join us.
