Hi everyone, I’m delighted to be back at WFTV after my eight-week secondment at the Southbank Centre as an integral part of my Clore Leadership Fellowship.
The experience has given me fresh insight into creative and strategic leadership across complexity, shaping culture, agility in decision making, and how to balance bold ideas with practical delivery - lessons I’m excited to bring home to our team.
A huge thank you to Claudia for leading the team so brilliantly while I was away, the WFTV Board for their continuous support of my Fellowship, and to Elaine Bedell, CEO at the Southbank Centre, for her guidance whilst I was on my secondment.
I look forward with renewed vigour to leading WFTV, and doubling down on our vision - to create a thriving and inclusive film and television industry where women are supported, empowered, and celebrated at every level. |

Last week the team launched our 2026 Production Management Programme, supported by the ScreenSkills High-end TV Skills Fund.
The Julie Burnell Scholarship supports women in the North of England working in production management or line producing with a particular focus on those from underrepresented or lower socio-economic backgrounds. Four participants will be selected for this career-accelerating opportunity, honoring the legacy of the Julie Burnell. Applications close on 17 April. Don’t delay - apply now. |

We’re looking for professional actors to perform live readings of script excerpts from last year’s screenwriting cohort. Join us to hear from participants from last year’s cohort, alongside live readings of some of their work read by professional actors from the WFTV membership. Following the showcase there will be drinks and the opportunity to network with members and industry colleagues. |

ITV’s Fresh Cuts 2026 is back. This year’s collection of films, dubbed Outlier, invites diverse-led production companies to pitch bold, original sports documentaries. They are looking to commission six companies led by People of Colour (POC) and/or Deaf, Disabled or Neurodivergent (DDN) people to each produce a standalone 46 minute documentary. The films will premiere in the latter part of the year on ITVX and on ITV’s YouTube channel. Deadline for applications is Friday 10th April.

Momentum is a free, nine-month development programme from the award-winning film exhibition and distribution company We Are Parable. Momentum is free to apply for and free to participate in. It is open to emerging Black filmmakers and content creators over 22 years old who are based in the UK and are looking for guidance on the next step in their film or television career. Backed by Channel 4 and Sony Pictures Television, the programme supports 30 participants through mentorship, industry access, masterclasses and dedicated mental health support.
