Welcome to the latest ScreenSkills Insights newsletter. In the last month I'm delighted to have seen the latest phase of the ScreenSkills Training Passport launched. The ground breaking pan-industry initiative welcomed new partners, new e-learning modules and a new accreditation model for health and safety courses. You can read more about the changes and how they benefit both freelancers and productions, below.
As part of our organisation-wide commitment to data and research informing focussed skills investment, the latest annual workforce review, carried out by the High-end TV Skills Fund, has been published. Later this spring, we'll also see three pan-industry reports which cross subsectors and genres of screen industry being published. Watch this space.
We're also celebrating the work of Discover! Creative Careers, a programme we're proud to have led that reached over 200,000 young people from 2023. Working with DCMS, a pan sector steering group, partners like Into Film, Mission Accomplished, and ERIC amongst hundreds of organisations, we're proud to have inspired thousands and highlit the broad range of varied careers available across the creative sector. You can also see the Government's new strategy for the sector in its creative industries plan, linked here, as well as updates on their announcements on apprenticeships and their position on AI and copyright.
