Subscribe View this email in your browser   April 2026 Special events this week Literature Book Launch: 'The Fourth Wall' by Sorj Chalandon 15 April 2026 In-person Event The Lilliput Press and the French Embassy in Ireland, with the support of Alliance Française Dublin, are delighted to invite you to the launch of The Fourth Wall, the award-winning novel by Sorj Chalandon, now translated into English for the first time by Cheney Crow, with the support of the Institut Français. This free event, held in English and in the presence of the author, offers a unique opportunity to hear from one of France’s leading contemporary writers. The evening will open with remarks by H.E. Céline Place, Ambassador of France to Ireland. Set in Beirut in 1982, the novel follows a daring attempt to stage Antigone across lines of conflict, exploring the power—and limits—of art in times of war. Widely acclaimed and inspired by Chalandon’s experience as a war reporter, The Fourth Wall was awarded the Prix Goncourt des Lycéens and has been translated into multiple languages.
