Outrageous – Behind the Scenes of the Mitford Sisters Drama

Join the creative team behind Outrageous, the bold new drama about the infamous Mitford sisters, produced by Firebird Pictures for UKTV and BritBox. Fresh from its premiere at the Tribeca TV Festival and its launch last month, this session explores how the show brings this iconic family saga to life for modern audiences.

With renewed interest in the Mitfords, including the recent discovery of Unity’s diary and a Channel 4 documentary in the works, the story’s polarised views and extreme ideas feel more timely than ever.

Hosted by UKTV’s Head of Drama Helen Perry, hear from actor Bessie Carter (who plays Nancy Mitford), writer Sarah Williams, executive producer Matthew Mosley and director Ellie Heydon, as they delve into the creative decisions, writing, direction, costume design and the challenges of capturing the sisters’ unique energy on screen.

Date: Tuesday 5 August
Time: 1 - 2pm
Location: Online
Tickets: This is a free virtual event.
