NEW ONLINE WORKSHOP CONTENT NOW AVAILABLE The free Writers of the Future Online Workshop has NEW content! Three new videos from best-selling authors Nnedi Okorafor, Kevin J. Anderson, and Robert J. Sawyer are included.  Self-Criticism as an author—the first phase of writing something great with Nnedi Okorafor. Productivity with Kevin J. Anderson. Creating Characters with Robert J. Sawyer. Click here for the free online workshop This is in addition to the full writing course, in case you have not taken it yet! If you are looking to get published, trying to win the Writers of the Future Contest, or are already professionally published, this course has something for you. Since it launched in 2020 (for free, yes, free, no strings attached), at least one or more Contest winner per year took this course prior to winning.   There are plans to add more content.   And for you illustrators out there, we did not forget about you. The Illustrators of the Future free online workshop is in the works. In the meantime, you can check out the Art & Illustration Forum, where the first of many AMAs (Ask Me Anything) were held last weekend. Find and connect with other illustrators like you, and get tips from professional artists.

Here are the latest episodes: Check out more episodes here ESSAY FOR THE MONTH If you have taken the workshop classes from Orson Scott Card, Tim Powers, or David Farland, you may have heard them refer to an essay called “The Manuscript Factory.” You can read this essay in full today.   L. Ron Hubbard’s first instructional essay on the business of writing, “The Manuscript Factory,” dates back to late 1935, when he had firmly established himself as a professional writer and became president of New York’s chapter of the American Fiction Guild.
