A Platform for Irish Women in Film
The Irish Women’s Short Film Festival was founded with a clear and simple mission: to give Irish women filmmakers a dedicated screen and a community to celebrate their work. With strong connections to the Irish diaspora in South Australia, Adelaide is the perfect home for this inaugural event.
“We believe Irish women have extraordinary stories to tell, and this festival exists to make sure those stories are seen,” said Orlaith Ní Chearra, Festival Co-Director, alongside Jeanne Mcinerney who has lived in Adelaide for the last 30 years. “We are thrilled to be bringing this event to Adelaide, and to be hosting it at the Adelaide Irish Club – a place that sits at the heart of the Irish community here.”
