Screen Talks is a series of webinars delivered by industry experts on a broad array of sector-related topics. Screen Skills Ireland is pleased to announce the next webinar in the series, which will be delivered by documentary director Kim Bartley at 3pm on Wednesday 23rd September.
Kim is an award-winning documentary director, maker of the international acclaimed 'The Revolution Will Not Be Televised' and the upcoming feature doc 'Pure Grit', which was made with the backing of Screen Ireland. Filmed over three years 'Pure Grit' is an observational feature doc about a 25 year old Native American bareback horse racing champion. It’s about her life, her loves and the challenges of life on the harsh but magnificent Wind River reservation in Wyoming.
This talk will explore the craft of Kim’s documentary filmmaking including self-shooting and the style of filmmaking she had developed, observational filmmaking and discipline while shooting, as well as the craft of storytelling and working toward the edit.
